Nate Wood (born October 3, 1979) is an American jazz multi-instrumentalist.
In his projects, Nate Wood's brain splits attention between four synthesizers, an electric bass and a drum kit, all while singing about futurism
He has performed with Wayne Krantz, Kneebody, Tigran Hamasyan, Louis Cole, The Calling, and Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.
Nate learned to play drums, bass, guitar, and saxophone, and attended the California Institute of the Arts for bass and drums, studying with Charlie Haden and Joe LaBarbera. He also attended LAMA College for Music Professionals for drums, where he studied under Ralph Humphrey and Joe Porcaro. After graduating, he played with Kneebody on their first gigs, and then toured with The Calling in support of their debut album.
Afterwards, he recorded and played every instrument on his debut album, and in addition to his work with Kneebody, toured and performed with artists such as George Harrison, Chaka Khan, Sting, Wayne Krantz, Donny McCaslin, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, the Ed Fry Band, and Snarky Puppy.

No doubt, Wood is a wildly endowed and original musician." -Steve Krugman (hollywooddrum.com) Nate is a founding member of the Grammy nominated quintet Kneebody. Kneebody released their self titled debut album in 2005 on trumpeter Dave Douglas's label Greenleaf Music.
In 2007, Kneebody released "Low Electrical Worker" on Colortone Media. They completed an album of arrangements of Charles Ives compositions with singer Theo Bleckmann and released the recording "12 Songs of Charles Ives" which was nominated "Best Classical Crossover Album" Grammy Award (2009, Winter and Winter). Kneebody's latest record "The Line" was released on Concord Records in 2013. Kneedeuls, a collaboration with electronic artist Daedelus was released in November of 2015 on Brainfeeder Records.
Nate has also performed or recorded with many notable artists including Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, Dave Grohl, Brian May and Roger Taylor, Chris Squire, Elliot Easton, Chaka Khan, Wayne Krantz, Billy Childs, Tigran Hamasyan, Donny McCaslin, Sting and many others.
Along with his work as a sideman, Nate has released 3 albums of his own material, where he performed, recorded and mixed everything himself.
The album "Another Time" was released in July 2014.
